Dear Customer,
Thank you for using HSBC's eStatement and eAdvice Service.
HSBC is committed to creating a greener world. Since October 2009, we have started sending more than 10 types of eStatements and eAdvices to customers who have responded positively to our initiative.
To further help drive the reduction of paper consumption in order to protect the environment, the Paper Statement Service Annual Fee will be implemented in phases starting from 2011. All fees collected will be donated to charitable organisations to support the continued development of the local community.
In the first phase, effective 1 January 2011, SuperEase and HK Dollar Current account customers who continue to receive paper statements will incur a HK$20 annual fee for each account. The fee will be directly debited from each relevant account in the first quarter of the following year for any paper statement consumed in the full current calendar year (from 1 January to 31 December). For example, if customers continue to receive paper statements until April 2011 and apply for eStatements thereafter, HK$20 annual fee will still apply to that account for year 2011.
Customers^ who meet the following criteria can be exempted from the fee:
- Aged 65 or above
- Recipients of Government's Comprehensive Social Security Allowance#
- Recipients of Government's Disability Allowance#
- The physically disabled or visually impaired*
Customers with SuperEase or HK Dollar Current accounts who have registered to receive eStatements can request 2 free paper statement copies a year only for any issued statement of the last two months for their relevant accounts.
If you have any enquiries regarding the fee charging scheme, please call (852) 8228 0822.
Thank you for your support to our environment.
Yours faithfully,
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited
