As part of our commitment to bring you enhanced security features and empower you to act quickly should you suspect fraudulent activities on your account, HSBC Malaysia introduces Kill Switch – a self-service Interactive Voice Response (IVR) feature.
 
Kill Switch is a 24/7 self-service feature that allows you to instantly suspend your account activities to prevent unauthorised access to your current and savings accounts and/or online and mobile banking.
 
 
How to activate Kill Switch
 
Step 1: Call HSBC/HSBC Amanah Contact Centre hotlines
Step 2: Press the star “*” key to access the emergency service menu
Step 3: Press “1” to activate Kill Switch
Step 4: Press “1” again to confirm your request
Step 5: If required, press “0” to speak to a customer service representative to report lost, stolen or unauthorised credit card transactions. Otherwise, hang up to disconnect the call.
 
Upon successful Kill Switch activation, an SMS notification as confirmation will be sent to your registered mobile number.
 
 
Calling from a phone number not registered with HSBC Malaysia?
Please have your NRIC or credit/debit card/-i details ready for verification purposes.
 
 
 
How to reactivate access after activating Kill Switch
 
As an added security measure to protect your accounts, you will need to visit your nearest HSBC/HSBC Amanah branch in-person for verification purposes. Book an appointment online and bring along your NRIC or passport to your appointment.

Alternatively, you can report a fraudulent transaction by calling the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) at 997 (from 8am to 8pm).

Remember, the police, government or other law enforcement agencies won't ever make phone calls to ask you to transfer funds to unfamiliar third-party accounts on the pretext of investigations. If you're ever unsure about a message you've received, please contact Customer Services for advice. Never share your Internet Banking ID, Password/PIN/OTP with anyone.
