Over the years, HSBC has been dedicated to fostering green banking initiatives to protect the environment. Since the launch of our eStatement and eAdvice Service in 2009, we have saved over 150 million pieces of paper which is equivalent to over 12,000 trees.
To protect the environment and contribute to the sustainable development of Hong Kong by reducing paper consumption, from 1 January 2013, a Paper Statement Service Annual Fee of HKD20(1) will be charged. This will apply to each account if customers request more than two paper statements per year for their Personal Banking Hong Kong Dollar Current, SuperEase, HSBC Premier, HSBC Advance, SmartVantage, University Student, Cash Card, Renminbi Savings, Hong Kong Dollar Statement Savings, CombiNations Statement Savings or Foreign Currency Current account(s).
The fee will be directly debited from each relevant account starting from the first quarter of 2014. All fees collected will be donated to charitable organisations to support the continued development of the local community.

• Aged below 18 or 65 and above
• Recipients of the Government’s Comprehensive Social Security Allowance(3)
