Important Notice on the Closure of Your Account Relationship
Dear Sir/Madam,
We hope this message finds you well. We are writing further to our earlier communication (dated 30 July 2025) regarding HSBC Group’s strategic decision to the winding down of HSBC’s Retail Banking business in Bangladesh. During this wind down process over the next few months, we remain committed to ensure smooth and convenient transition of your banking relationship.
We are appending herewith a product retirement timeline based on Account and Residency types, for your quick reference. Please review your account holding with HSBC Bangladesh and kindly consider making alternative banking arrangements at your earliest convenience, such as transferring your funds, settling any loans, and closing your accounts well within the specified timeline.
Please note:
- Any remaining account balances after the retirement timeline will be retained by the Bank and will be treated under the relevant regulations for unclaimed and dormant accounts
- For Term Deposits maturing after the given timeline, the bank will encash them within the Product retirement date at the contracted interest rate, calculated on a pro-rata basis for the period the deposit is held, and the proceeds will be credited to your account.
- All HSBC fees/charges associated with your account and loan transfer/closure will be waived.
