Why is it secure?
When signing up for “Verified by Visa”/ “Mastercard^® Securecode™”, you create and own a password and a personal message of your choice. You will check your own personal message prior to entering your password confirming that your transaction is authenticated by HSBC.

How does it work?
Upon online payment at participating merchants with your HSBC Credit Card, you should validate your personal message to ensure the authentication screen is genuine before entering your password to complete your online purchases.

How to register? Please complete the three simple steps as below

Step 1:

Log on to your HSBC Internet Banking account.
Select “Services” from the left-handed menu and click:

•	“Mastercard^® SecureCode™” if you are a Cardholder of Premier World MasterCard^® Credit Card, or
•	“Verified by Visa” if you are a Cardholder of HSBC Visa Credit Card.

Step 2:

Select your Credit Card number to register for the service.

Step 3:

Create password and personal message. Your password can be used immediately to make online purchases.
