Online Connect Terms and Conditions:
1. The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, India (hereinafter referred to as “HSBC India”) may, at its discretion offer video conference facility to a select HSBC NRI customers residing in United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia (referred to as ‘Customer’) to enable the Customer to connect with his/her Service Manager (SM) online, via video conference facility. The video conference facility would be offered under the service name “Online Connect”.
2. Access to the ‘Online Connect’ would require the Customer to login to HSBC India’s Internet Banking Service using the Security Device issued by HSBC India.
3. Online Connect once offered will be available from 11:00hrs till 20:00hrs Monday to Friday (Service Hours), as per local time in Customer’s country of residence excluding public holidays in India.
4. The said Service Manager may be available during the Service Hours for online interaction. In case the Service Manager is not available during the Service Hours or you wish to have an interaction with your Service Manager after the Service Hours or during public holidays through Online Connect, the Customer may book an appointment in advance with the Service Manager. To schedule an appointment, the Customer is required to use the ‘Book Appointment’ option under “Online Connect” menu on the left hand menu bar.
5. The Service Hours as mentioned above are pertaining to Online connect. The cut off timings for acceptance of various types of instructions by the Bank will be as informed by the Bank from time to time and will vary depending upon the type of instruction.
6. Use of Online Connect would require installation of third party software by the Customer. The Customer agrees to abide by the Terms and Conditions of the third party software provider. The Customer further acknowledges that use of the third party software is at the Customer’s own discretion and risk. The Bank would not be responsible for any damage to the computer or any other inconvenience due to the download and installation of such third party software.
7. Prior to down loading the application, the Customer should read and understand the User Agreement, Privacy Policy of the third party software provider, which will be available at hsbc.co.in and proceed to avail the application only if the Customer agrees to abide by the same. The Customer shall be required to give personal information online for availing the services of the third party software provider. The Customer should read and understand the Privacy policy of such third party software provider, prior to providing such information. The Customer should read, understand and accept the Terms and Conditions of the third party software provider prior to usage of the Online Connect functionality.
8. The Bank shall in no event be liable to the Customer for any damages, claims or costs whatsoever arising from installation and usage of the third party software or any component thereof, including without limitation any consequential, indirect, incidental damages or loss.
9. The Customer acknowledges that there may be a time lag in transmission of instructions, information or communication via the Internet and certain transactions or financial instructions which require documentation or original signatures for executing the transactions can be executed only for Customers in cities where the Bank has its branches.
10. The scope of service offered to Customers would be detailed in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and access would be provided to Customers who are offered Online Connect service. The scope of service would be subject to change at the discretion of the Bank.
11. HSBC India shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever that may be suffered, or for any personal injury that may be suffered as a result of usage of the Online Connect functionality.
12. All decisions in respect of the Online Connect functionality shall be at the sole discretion of HSBC India and the same shall be final, binding and non-contestable.
13. The Customer waives any and all rights of claim with regard to the Online Connect functionality against HSBC India.
14. Any disputes arising out of the Online Connect functionality shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Mumbai only.
15. The existence of any dispute shall not, by itself, constitute any claim against HSBC India.
16. HSBC India reserves its absolute right to withdraw or alter any of the Terms and Conditions of the Online Connect functionality at any time without prior intimation to the Customers.
17. The Offer is subject to force majeure events.
18. By availing the Online Connect functionality the Customer agrees to accept the above Terms and Conditions in totality.
