We would like to inform you that the FastCHEQUE services (via lock box facility) being utilized by Canada based Non Resident (NR) account holders of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, India (HSBC India), will no longer be available for such customers effective February 15, 2011. Please note that cheques/any type of monetary instrument/remittance instruction/other service requests received on or after February 15 2011 to the lockbox will be returned to you unprocessed by HSBC India. Further the ‘Dial or Click Transfers’ remittance facilities being availed by such customers through Personal Internet Banking (PIB) and Phone Banking offered by HSBC Bank Canada, (HSBC Canada), to remit funds to their account with HSBC India will also not be available effective February 15, 2011. For your information the Representative Office of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Hong Kong, located in Canada will cease to be operational from the aforesaid date.

For your remittance needs, in case you hold an account with HSBC Canada, you can continue to transfer money to your NR account with HSBC India through the ‘Make a transfer’ function on Personal Internet Banking offered by HSBC Canada. Please refer to the service charges information from HSBC Canada for the applicable fees. In case you do not hold an account with HSBC Canada, then you may use International wire transfer services from your financial services provider for sending remittances to India.
