Urgent! Avoid suspension of account services.
Submit KYC documents now.
 
Dear customer,
 
The provisions of Reserve Bank of India's Master Circular (RBI/2012-13/45DBOD. AML. BC. No. 11/14.01.001/2012-13) on Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements dated 2 July 2011, mandate all banks to update, on a periodic basis, the customer identification documents (including photographs) for all accounts held with them.
Accordingly, we have sent repeated communications to the qualified customers, to submit their KYC documents to the Bank. We have notified these customers that non-submission of KYC documents will result in the restriction of account services. For all such cases where we have not received updated KYC documents, we have been constrained to undertake the following measures with effect from 10 January 2013:
1. Deactivation of Third party / Bill payment facility through HSBC Internet Banking Services.
Please note that all future date transfers / Bill payment set-ups through Internet Banking will
not be honoured due to the deactivation of this service. The facility will be automatically reactivated after you have submitted your KYC documents and received due confirmation of update from the Bank.
2. Non-issuance of cheque book (Applicable to Resident Indian customers only).
A fresh cheque book will be issued on your request, only after you have submitted complete KYC documents to the Bank and received due confirmation of update on the same. You will need to make a fresh cheque book request only after you have received bank confirmation that your KYC has been updated.
In case you have received communication to submit your updated KYC documents to the Bank, and not yet done the needful, we trust that you will undertake the necessary action to ensure regular functioning of your account(s). Do urgently submit your KYC documents by:
bullet Depositing them at the nearest HSBC branch/drop box.
bullet Emailing them to servicekyc@hsbc.co.in from your e-mail ID registered with the Bank.
bullet Sending them to:

Rajalakshmi, No. 5 and 7,
Cathedral Road,
Chennai, India,
Pin 600 086.
