Using the Interactive Stock Screener
1. How to access the Interactive Stock Screener?
  Login to your HSBC InvestDirect Account and select the Interactive Stock Screener option from the quick launch drop down.
  Login to Online Service
   
2. Default View:
  By default you will be displayed a customisable watch-list. Scrips can be added or removed from the watch-list by selecting the magnifying glass symbol.

3. Interactive Stock Screener Field Details:
 
bullet Market Map:- 5 Types of maps are available: Nifty, Sensex, Nifty Junior, CNX 500 and My Watchlist
bullet Group By: Grouping of scrips on the map can be done as per sector/industry.
It can also be done on the basis of the Returns, P/E ratio, Dividend yield, etc. In case of ratios, 5 slab-wise groups will be created and the scrips will be put in the respective bucket. If no grouping is selected, then all the scrips are selected in single group.
bullet Colour By: This can be done on the basis of the Returns, P/E ratio, Dividend yield, etc.
The blocks will be coloured in a gradient from red (minimum values) to green
(maximum values)
bullet Size By: This can be done on the basis of the Market cap, Returns, P/E ratio, Dividend yield, etc. The blocks will be sized from smallest (minimum values) displayed at the right bottom to largest (maximum values) at the left top
bullet Top: On the basis of size, the top selected items will be shown in the map

  In the illustration shown above, [Market Map: Nifty, Group by: Sector, Colour by: 1 year returns, Size by: Market Cap, Top: 25]; each square represents a stock; grouped into sectors. The size of each square is initially set to Market Cap; and the colour of each square is based on the returns over a period of 1 year. Further, only the top 25 scrips matching these criteria are displayed.
  A user quickly notices from this particular view: that for the criteria chosen, 'Computers' and 'Banks' are sectors that have performed well as represented by the dark shades of green whereas 'Telecommunications' and 'Construction' sectors represented by the red shades has been underperforming in the past one year.

  In the illustration shown above, [Market Map: Nifty, Group by: Sector, Colour by: % Change, Size by: Market Cap]; each square represents a stock; grouped into sectors. The size of each square is initially set to Market Cap; and the colour of each square is the One Day Percentage change of the stock. A user quickly notices the following from this particular view:
 
bullet The largest sector (top left) is Banks. The largest square in this group represents SBIN
i.e. State Bank of India (the stock with the highest market cap within the banking sector)
bullet The smallest sector (bottom right) is the Electronic sector which has the lowest total market cap per stock
