| RE: HSBC China USD & HKD Base Lending Rate Adjustment |
Dear Customer:

| Commencing on Thursday, 1 September 2011, HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited (the “Bank” or “HSBC China”) will increase USD Base Lending Rate (previously USD Prime Rate) and HKD Base Lending Rate (previously HKD Best Lending Rate) for foreign currency loans. USD Base Lending Rate and HKD Base Lending Rate will be adjusted from 3.5% and 5.25% to 4% and 5.5%, respectively. |

| If you wish to learn more about the adjustment, please refer to the notice letter and enclosed FAQ sent to you by mail. If you have further questions, Personal Banking customers please call 400-820-8828 (or +86-21-3888-8828 if using a mobile phone or calling from outside mainland China) or contact your relationship manager; Commercial Banking customers please call 400-882-6688 or contact your relationship manager; Private Banking customers please contact your relationship manager directly. |

| The adjustment will affect your repayment installments. Please verify your bank statement and repayment account to ensure a sufficient balance is maintained to cover each installment in full (including the interest increased as a result of the rate adjustment referred to hereinabove). A public notice regarding the adjustment can also be found on the HSBC China website at www.hsbc.com.cn. |
